Who can be nominated?
A nominee must demonstrate significant business accomplishment in the category for which they are being nominated.  He or she must be an active member of a business located in the community as well as an  active participant in civic or philanthropic groups in the community.  Deadlines for nominations can be found at www.businessleader.com/nominations.

Who can submit a nomination for consideration?
Anyone who is associated with a candidate can submit a nomination for that candidate.  This includes spouses, employees, bankers, attorneys, public relations mangers or the candidate themselves.  Self-nominations are encouraged.

What happens if I win?
Winners receive a substantial amount of positive PR.  All winners are profiled in Business Leader Magazine and in the annual Book of Leaders. Some Editorial Awards have ceremonies to honor recipients as follows:

• Healthiest CEO Awards / Healthiest Company Awards (Triangle Only)
• Movers & Shakers
• Innovation Awards (Triangle Only)
• 2008 Women Extraordinaire

• 2008/09 Business Leader of the Year

Recipients will be contacted regarding exact dates.  Participation in the ceremony is mandatory for recipients.

Are nomination forms kept confidential?
Yes.  The information on the nomination for will be used by Business Leader Media (in connection with the administration of the award), the sponsors (non-financial information), and the panel of judges.

Who are the judges?
Each Editorial Award has a different panel of judges.  The judges are typically regional entrepreneurs, business leaders, and prominent academic and civic leaders as well as Business Leader Media editorial staff. 

What the fees to participate?
There are no fees to participate.
